Happy Holidays

Hello people!
Just a short post to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Now, the above picture doesn't really convey festivity, but I just thought it was a nice picture and wanted to share it with you all. By the way, it is a picture of the Elephanta Caves near Mumbai, taken when I was there a few months ago.

The end of the year calls for some introspection, some stock taking. But I will let that wait for a while. My family is here with me and I am having the time of my life. So no blogging. But do come back, I have a long post about the wedding coming up.

Happy holidays! Stay beautiful.

Wishing you the same Deepa. Have a lovely holiday season and spend it with the ones you love. Nothing makes this time more special than to be with them.

See you soon!

Pertaining to the wedding description I just had one objection. The musicians ensemble assembled at the wedding (in pic), as you said are not traditional. We can make out from their instruments. The guy to the right is playing Saxophone which is new to us. the main guy at the centre is playing clarionet, which is again inherited from the west. So your traditional tag doesn't hold good for this troup.
Traditionally, south Indian marriages would witness Nadaswaram coupled with alaap of mixed ragas from carnatic as well as hindustani. some tracks composed by the saints will also be rendered. on the backdrop mrudangam (dholak) and Harmonium is must.
